The students did much better with homework this week. I will continue with the process I started last week. Thanks for signing and assisting your student with their homework and studies.
Reading - “My Rows and Piles of Coins”
Language Arts - Compound Sentences
Writing: Students are proofing and editing their Math Story and they are writing their first blog on paper. They will start blogging this week. The class blog is only visible by my students and my self. I see all blogs and approve them before they are uploaded to our blog. The students will create a list of rules this week. They will type their first blog. It will be their first blog post.
Math - Addition Strategies
Breaking the Numbers Apart
Example: 394 + 175 =
300 + 100 = 400 300 + 100 = 400
40 + 70 = 110 (30 + 70 = 100)
9 + 5 = 14 10 + 100 = 110
400 + 110 + 14 = 524 9 + 5 = 14
400 + 110 + 14 = 524
